William S. Belfar, was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1963. He is a distinguished medical professional with a diverse educational background. Graduating in May 1986 with a degree in electrical engineering from SUNY at Stony Brook, he went on to pursue his passion for medicine at the New York University School of Medicine, earning his MD in May 1990. Dr. William Belfar completed a neurology residency at Boston University Medical Center in June 1994, followed by a psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center in June 1997. His commitment to excellence led him to a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he completed his training in June 1998. Belfar has been dedicated to the field of psychiatry, consistently providing high-quality care as a board-certified psychiatrist. His expertise spans various aspects of the field, making him a valuable resource in areas such as forensic psychiatry. William Belfar has worked in different settings and served in different management positions during his career. Belfar has authored multiple books in the behavioral health field. Dr. Belfar cares deeply about his patients and is drawn to community health as a channel for empowering healthy communities. He believes in providing patient-centered care to all individuals, regardless of socioeconomic status and background. Being a part of New Beginnings, he is responsible for cultivating our outpatient’s relationship with the surrounding community to develop opportunities for integration.d sensitivity.
